This is an annotated data management plan (DMP) template for an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) grant application technical plan.

This document (available in .pdf and .docx formats) was created using the DMPonline tool, which provides templates for structuring major research funders' DMPs. The document includes the guidance text provided in the tool, produced by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC), the AHRC and the University of Sheffield Library.

A Technical Plan should be no more than four pages long and provided for all applications where digital outputs or digital technologies are an essential part to the planned research outcomes. A digital output or digital technology is defined as an activity which involves the creation, gathering, collecting and/or processing of digital information. Mandatory headings under four sections are given to structure the plan.

For further guidance see see the Case for Support Guidance regarding a Technical Summary and the Research Funding Guide on Technical plan.
