Generic Annotated DMP Template

This may also be used when the funder does not require a data sharing plan to be submitted or for unfunded projects.
This document (available in .pdf and .docx formats) was created using the DMPonline tool, which provides templates for structuring major research funders' DMPs. The document includes the guidance text provided in the tool, produced by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) and the University of Sheffield Library.
Many research funders and organisations require DMPs, both during the bid-preparation stage and after funding has been secured. A DMP describes how you will collect, organise, manage, store, secure, backup, preserve, and where applicable, share your data. Each funder has slightly different guidelines and template structure, but the resulting DMP is generally expected to be two or three A4 pages in length.
For further guidance see the DCC webpages on Data management Plans and How to Develop a Data Management and Sharing Plan. Check your funder's data sharing policy also.
