#Information relating to the columns in Birkheadetal.2020_shape.dataset.csv

eggname: this refers to the corresponding image file name for a given egg
species: highlights the bird species for which the egg is from
location: if the source location for a given egg is known, it is reported in this column
maxlength: presents the maximum length of an egg in mm
maxbreadth: presents the maximum breadth of an egg in mm

Pointedness: shape indice defined as the length from the maximum breadth to the more distant end divided 
by the maximum egg length
Elongation: the ratio of the maximum length to the maximum breadth
PolarAsymmetry: the ratio of the diameter of the largest circle that can fit within the egg outline 
touching the egg at its blunt pole to the diameter of the largest circle within the egg outline and 
touching the more pointed pole
#The three shape indices are calculated based on a model fitting generated by automated shape analysis
software developed by Biggins et al. 2018 (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ece3.4412).

volcc: presents the egg volume in cc (see Biggins et al. 2018 for further details on how egg volume is calculated using 
digital egg images.
